One of the most interesting trends in the world of gaming is that companies have started to release special updates and themed content around the holidays. Whether this is an effort to increase player use during a time when people are traditionally busier, or an attempt to offer some respite from the hustle and bustle of the holidays (or both) it’s great news for video game enthusiasts.

Below are some of our favourite holiday-themed Android games that we suggest you try this season:

A Good Snowman is Hard to Build

Technically this game isn’t “holiday themed” but we had to include it because this addictive puzzle game is adorable and a lot of fun.

The premise is this: you’re a monster, and you’re trying to build a snowman. To make a snowman, you must roll three snowballs around a yard with a fresh layer of snow, without making the balls too large. Each roll makes a small snowball larger, but you’ll have to play around with getting the sizes just right, which is a lot of fun. We recommend this for the puzzle lover in your life!

Steppy Pants

Steppy Pants is a silly game in which you help a weird-looking main character navigate the world around them by walking from place to place. There’s only one catch: you can’t step on any cracks!

Using your finger to click for each step, move your lanky hero down busy streets, across slippery snow, and even across the tops of houses to deliver presents by dumping them down chimneys. The more presents you deliver, the more Santa (who makes a special guest appearance) will pay you.
